FAQ
Frequently asked questions.
Is this serious?+
No. Parkuhrfinder is satire and a joke gift. The map and the locations are real, though.
What is free and what costs money?+
Sending the way to the nearest real parking meter is free. Only the voucher for our digital parking meter costs money: €1.00 per 30 minutes of talk time.
What is the digital parking meter?+
A parking meter in your browser. The voucher code starts the talk time, and you can tell it everything – typing or out loud. It listens, never argues and stores nothing.
How much does it cost?+
€1.00 per 30 minutes of conversation time, VAT included. Just like the machine. The maximum conversation time is 4 hours.
Can I park with the voucher?+
No. The voucher entitles you neither to park nor to anything else. Local parking rules apply.
How is the voucher redeemed?+
Choose “Code” on the home page or open the link from the message. The talk time at the digital parking meter starts when you tap “Start conversation”.
Do the parking meters know about this?+
No. No machine has been informed of its participation in our conversation programme. Municipalities and operators have no affiliation with us.
Who can see my dedication?+
Only people who know the voucher code. Names and messages never appear in link previews and are never published.
A parking meter no longer exists. What now?+
Choose “Report” on the meter’s page. After several reports we hide the location. A map entry does not mean a machine is still standing there today.
Where do the locations come from?+
From OpenStreetMap (© OpenStreetMap contributors, ODbL). We sync the data regularly.
Can I cancel my purchase?+
The voucher is digital content that is delivered immediately. With your consent at checkout, the right of withdrawal expires. We are still happy to help if anything goes wrong.
Does the parking meter really listen?+
This has so far been neither confirmed nor refuted.
